Alfred Nobel: profile, person behind Nobel prizes, inventions, discovery of dynamite

From 'The Merchant of Death' to 'Benefactor of Nobel Prize'

Famous scientist Alfred Nobel, who was known as the inventor of dynamite, was born in 1833 in Stockholm (Sweden).
When Alfred Nobel was 18, he was sent to America for chemistry studies. Alfred Nobel discovered Dynamite in 1867.

Alfred Nobel was of very curious nature, that is why he had made a total of 355 inventions in his entire life. However, his most revolutionary discovery was in 1867 as a dynamite. He earned a lot of wealth and fame by inventing the dynamite.

There was a news accidentally published in a newspaper behind the launch of the Nobel Prize. In 1888 a newspaper imprinted the mistake of "death of the merchant of death", which means Alfred Nobel has died. The newspaper also held Alfred responsible for the death of thousands of people due to the invention of dynamite. Alfred himself also read this false report of his death.

But the term "death dealer" used for them in this paper had shocked Alfred Nobel badly. He decided that he would wipe out this stain on his personality.
Alfred Nobel wrote his will on 27 November 1895 in which he separated the largest portion of his property to make a trust.

After cutting all taxes, 94% of Alfred Nobel's total assets i.e. 31,225,000 Swedish kronor were allocated for the establishment of five Nobel Prizes.
Alfred Nobel desired that every year interest should be paid to those people whose work is found to be the most welfare of mankind. Thus, the Nobel Prize is given every year in 6 areas for those who have worked towards enhancing human welfare.

So far 8 Indians have got Nobel Prize and the first Indian to receive the Nobel Prize was Rabindra Nath Tagore.
