NITI Aayog launched Agricultural Marketing and farm friendly reforms, Maharashtra leading Delhi lowest

NITI Aayog launched first ever Agricultural Marketing and Farm Friendly Reforms Index of states and Union territories.

This index is based on the provisions proposed under APMC Act, these provisions enable the farmers to easily benefit from the modern trade and commerce.

This index reveals the minimum and the maximum value of reforms in the states.

Maharashtra is at the top of the list scoring 81.7 out of 100 which signifies that all the reforms have been utilised and offers best environment of agriculture in the state.

Second and third position is secured by Gujarat and Rajasthan scoring 71.5 and 71 out of 100.

Union Territories like Delhi and Puducherry scored the lowest which signifies that they did not accept or cancel APMC Act.

Bihar, Kerala, Manipur and others are not even included in the ranking.
