India has won 8th South Asian Judo Championship on the final day of the championship, concluded on the evening of 24th April 2018 in Lalitpur, Nepal.
Indian men and women team has won 10 gold medals at 8th South Asian Judo Championship event.
Indian women achieved the feat by white-washing the championship by beating host country Nepal by 5-0 in the final of team events.
Indian men also won team championship by defeating Pakistan by 3-2 in the final event.
Indian women grabbed 7 ‘Gold Medals’ while Indian men won 3 out of total 7 ‘Gold Medals’ in the individual category.
Indian women such as Garima Chaudhary, C. Jina Devi and Tulika Maan showed their best golden performance at the championship.
India topped the medal tally winning 10 Gold and 3 Bronze medals in the individual category.
Nepal remained at second place bagging two ‘Gold Medals’ while Pakistan also bagged two ‘Gold Medals’ but remained at third place according to medal tally.
A total 102 players from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka participated in the 3-day championship.
