India’s National Register of Citizens (NRC) is the record of citizens of the states living in legal manner in the country.
National Register of Citizens (NRC) was prepared first time in 1951 in India at the first-ever census of the population after Independence.
NRC had the details of every person from every village at the time of its first census in 1951.
NRC data consists of people name, age, father or husband name and, other necessary things belonging to a family and person in the village.
National Register of Citizens were kept at Deputy Commissioner and Sub-Divisional Officers offices for government record purpose.
In the beginning of 1960, these registers transferred to Police department for law and order and record keeping.
