Former Managing Director of chip maker Intel South Asia, Ms. Debjani Ghosh has been appointed as the new president of Nasscom on 2nd April 2018.
Ms. Debjani Ghosh has replaced R.Chandrashekhar after his superannuation.
Ms. Debjani Ghosh is recognised as an initiator of gender diversity and equal representation in corporate India.
Ms. Debjani Ghosh was also the first woman to lead Intel India and MAIT (Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology).
The NASSCOM is a trade association of Indian Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry. It is a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO).
The NASSCOM was established on 1st March 1988. It was registered under the Indian Societies Act, 1860.
The NASSCOM is a global trade body with over 2300 members, of which over 250 are companies from China, EU, Japan, the U.S. and the UK.
The NASSCOM's member companies are in the business of software development, software services, software products, IT-enabled/BPO services and E-commerce.
The NASSCOM is headquartered in New Delhi, India, with regional offices in the Indian cities of Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.
