Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Pradhan Mantri Aatmnirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY) in Varanasi on Monday, a national health infrastructure plan with a five-year budget of Rs 64,180 crore.
During his second visit to Uttar Pradesh in a week, PM Modi will also inaugurate nine medical projects and 30 projects worth Rs 5,000 crore. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, will be in attendance.
The Pradhan Mantri Aatmnirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY) will be launched with the virtual participation of healthcare experts and personnel from panchayat and block level functional health and wellness centers, sub-district and district hospitals, and the Government Medical College of Varanasi.
the Pradhan Mantri Aatmnirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY)'s goal is to close significant gaps in health infrastructure, surveillance, and research in both urban and rural areas, empowering communities to deal with health emergencies on their own.
The Pradhan Mantri Aatmnirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana (PMASBY) initiatives are aimed at strengthening health systems and institutions at all levels of care, including basic, secondary, and tertiary care, as well as preparing health systems to respond effectively to current and future pandemics and catastrophes.
The program provides an influx of funding to help states build the infrastructure they need to improve their health systems.
The initiative was proposed by the Union government in the Budget 2021-22 on February 1, and it was approved by the Cabinet in September
