PM Narendra Modi to be honored with an award for his work in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He will be facilitated in the United States.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is one of the ambitious projects that was introduced during PM Modi’s first term of Primeministership. The project was launched on October 2, 2014, on the occasion of Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims to make India 'Open Defecation Free' by 2019. At present, several Indian states including Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala and Sikkim have been already declared ODF.
