Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 8th June 2019, was conferred with the Maldives' highest civilian award, the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzudeen, by the President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The Distinguished Rule of Izzudeen award conferred to PM Narendra Modi is in recognition of the many services he has provided to leverage the longstanding and vital ties between India and Maldives.
The Distinguished Rule of Izzudeen award was also conferred for his magnanimous assistance that the Indian government continues to provide to the Maldives under his stewardship.
PM Narendra Modi on the occasion said this award is a pride moment for India and promised that India will give all possible assistance to the Maldives in future times.
PM Modi also promised to initiate many projects that would benefit the Maldives citizens in the coming years.
