India has extended $200 million lines of credit to Rwanda as Prime Minister Narendra Modi (first Indian Prime Minister to visit the East African country) held wide-ranging talks with President Paul Kagame.
PM Narendra Modi also gifted 200 cows to poor villagers of Rwanda.
India will also soon to open its High Commission in Rwanda.
India has also extended two lines of credit -one of $100 million for development of industrial parks and Kigali special economic zone (SEZ) in Rwanda and another one for$100 million for agriculture.
Both the two sides signed MoUs on collaboration in the areas of leather and allied sectors, dairy cooperation, agricultural research and education collaborations between Rwanda Agricultural Board (RAB) and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
