Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the first phase (Phase-I) of Delhi-Meerut Expressway on 27th May 2018.
The Delhi-Meerut Expressway first phase stretches from Nizamuddin Bridge to Delhi UP Border. It is 6.7 Km long.
The Delhi-Meerut first phase of these is the 14 lanes, access controlled expressway. It promises to cut down travel time between the Delhi-NCR and Meerut to 40 minutes from the current time of nearly two-and-a-half hours.
The Delhi-Meerut Expressway will also significantly reduce the travel time and to several other parts of Western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The Delhi-Meerut Expressway will be constructed into 4 sections: Nizamuddin Bridge - Delhi-UP Border; Delhi-UP Border - Dasna; Dasna - Hapur; Dasna - Meerut
The Delhi-Meerut Expressway is 96 Km long covering all four sections. Its total project cost is around ₹78 billion.
