Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi inaugurated Kishanganga Hydroelectric Project on 19th May 2018 in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) India.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also laid the foundation stone of Pakal Dul Power Project on 19th May 2018 in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
Kishanganga Hydro Electric Project and Pakal Dul Power Project are aimed to improve power supply, envisaging employment generation and developing the infrastructure of the J&K state.
Kishanganga Hydro Electric Project is a power plant installed with a capacity of 330 MW. It is a run of river scheme and has been proposed to be completed at a cost of Rs. 5882 crores.
Kishanganga Hydro Electric is a 37 m (121 ft) tall concrete-face rock-fill dam situated in Bandipora District of Jammu & Kashmir, India.
Pakal Dul Power Project will be the largest Hydro Power Project in Jammu & Kashmir on completion. It is also the first ever water storage project in Jammu & Kashmir, India.
Pakal Dul Power Project initiated is a concrete-face rock-fill dam of 167 m high, on the Marusadar River, a tributary of the Chenab River, in Kishtwar district of the Jammu and Kashmir, India.
Pakal Dul Power Project will be installed with a capacity of 1000 MW at the proposed cost of Rs. 8112.12 crores.
