Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Russia on May 21 for an informal summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) statement released on 14th May 2018, the informal summit will be held in the Russian city of Sochi.
As per the MEA statement, this informal summit will be of great significance. It is expected that the two supreme leaders of both the countries will exchange views on international matters in a broad and long-term perspective with the objective of further strengthening our Special and Privileged Strategic partnership.
The MEA statement also stated that both the leaders will also discuss their respective national developmental priorities and bilateral matters.
PM Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin informal Summit in Sochi will boost tradition of regular consultations between India and Russia at the highest levels.
Earlier, PM Narendra Modi in April 2018 had traveled to the Chinese city of Wuhan for an informal summit with President Xi Jinping.
