Delhi End TB Summit: Statement of Action Adopted By WHO SEARO Region Countries To Eliminate Tuberculosis (TB)- Details, Features, Purpose, Priorities

The Member Countries of World Health Organization-Regional Office for South-East Asia (WHO-SEARO), which participated in Delhi End TB Summit on 14th March 2018 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

The WHO-SEARO region countries have adopted the Delhi End TB Statement of Action. They have unanimously shown their agreement in efforts to ensure rapid and concrete progress to eliminate TB by 2030.

The Delhi End TB Statement of Action stated in identifying roles, responsibilities and directions of the member countries of WHO- SEARO region, in order to make their countries free from this disease.

The Delhi End TB Statement of Action also proposed increased attention, investments and efforts directed at tackling region’s major burden of tuberculosis (TB).

The Delhi End TB Statement of Action have been proposed with priorities which include ‘LEAD’, ‘INCREASE’, ‘ENABLE’ & ‘SUPPLEMENT’.

LEAD implementation of national TB responses in region countries by the empowered national initiative that controls & direct progress in reaching End TB targets to the highest levels of government in the Member States.

INCREASE human resource and budgetary allocations by governments as well as by their global, domestic and other partners so as to ensure that national TB plans are fully funded.

ENABLE best possible care to every single person in medical need, including migrants, aged and other high-risk populations, living with any form of TB including drug-resistant TB/ HIV co-infections.

SUPPLEMENT medical care for TB with social and financial protection in a holistic manner.
