India will host the first International Solar Alliance (ISA) Summit on 11th March 2018, in New Delhi.
Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will host the International Solar Alliance Summit-2018.
The ISA-2018 Summit is believed to show the participation of global leaders from over 50 member countries. It will include French President Emmanuel Macron, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid and Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
The ISA-2018 Summit is aimed to initiate 121 projects. These 121 projects will be signed in two phases- First 50 projects on 11 March 2018 and other 71 projects on 20 April 2018.
During ISA-2018 Summit, 2 new programmes will be inaugurated, first will be on Scaling Solar E-Mobility & Storage and second will be on Rooftop Solar.
The International Solar Alliance was launched by PM Narendra Modi in collaboration with French President Francois Hollande on the first day of the COP-21 summit at Paris in 2015.
The ISA became a treaty-based international inter-governmental organisation on 6th December 2017, following the ratification by Guinea on 6th November 2017.
The ISA Headquarter is situated in Gurugram, India. Its Governing Structure consists of an Assembly, a Council and a Secretariat.
The ISA main objective is to create a collaborative platform for increased deployment of solar energy technologies to enhance energy security and sustainable development from solar rich countries lying between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn.
In ISA till 2018, 46 countries have signed and 19 countries have ratified the Framework Agreement of International Solar Alliance.
