The World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS)-2018, is the three-day event (15th Feb to 17th Feb) organised by The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2018th edition of World Sustainable Development Summit on 16th February 2018.
PM Modi on the inaugural speech laid stress on the major current environmental problems that are being faced by the developing nations. Later, he added that successful climate action needs access to financial resources and technology. Technology can help countries like India to develop sustainably and enable poor to benefit from it.
PM Narendra Modi also proclaimed that today we need to act upon the belief that we as humans can make a difference to the plant. "This planet, our Mother Earth, is one. So we should rise above our trivial differences and act as one to save her."
PM Narendra Modi also welcomed the guests from over 41 countries who participated and requested them all to join the WSDS-2018 campaign in order to make the planet a more safer and sustainable place.
PM Modi concluded in wishing the WSDS-2018 event a great success.
