The Skill Development Ministry of India and Maruti Suzuki have signed an agreement, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 18th December 2017, to impart training to youth and strengthen their employment prospects.
The agreement was signed in the vital presence of Anant Kumar Hegde, Minister of State, (MSDE) between Vijay Kumar Dev, Director General (DGT) of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Vice President of Maruti Suzuki India Limited in New Delhi.
The MoU focus to deliver high employment potential trades related to automobile and manufacturing industry to youth under the Skill India Mission.
Under the MoU, students who are 10th and 12th pass outs can be a part of the training modules, which includes Manufacturing, Automotive Service & Repair, Automotive Body Repair and Automotive Paint Repair.
All the training modules are to be approved by NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) and all the trainees who will successfully complete their training course will get certificates.
As per the agreement, Maruti Suzuki will ensure that minimum 80% of trainees after completion of their course will get placement with either Maruti Suzuki or its business partners
