The mission creates convergence across various sectors and different states in terms of activities related to skill training.
*To implement the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSFQ) which allows opportunities for a long term and as well as a short term training which will
lead to the productive employment and career improvement.
*Use of a framework to maintain balance between industry/employer demand and the workforce which will lead to a sustainable livelihood because of
determined training.
*Providing facilities of re-skilling and up-skilling to the workforce of the unorganised sectors of the industry.
*To ensure high quality training standards through high quality teaching and few other works which result in a highly skilled workforce and global job
opportunities.
*Supporting weaker sections through various programmes and targeted skill development activities.
*To maintain a national database known as the Labour Market Information System (LMIS),
which will act as a portal for matching the demand and supply of skilled workforce in the country.
*LMIS will provide citizens vital information on skilling initiatives across the country.
*LMIS will also perform as a platform for monitoring the performance of existing skill development programmes,running in every Indian State.
