The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of India (MSDE) currently headed by Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, The MSDE was established on 9 November 2014 with the vision of a 'Skilled India'. Its main objective is to coordinate all skill development efforts of the nation.
The MSDE aims to maintain demand and supply of proficient manpower across the country, Building Industrial vocational training or Technical apprenticeship modules, Skill up-gradation programs, Building of new skills and Innovative thinking not only for the existing jobs but also for the jobs that are to be generated in future.
The MSDE in its work gets assisted by its functional organizations – National Skill Development Agency (NSDA), National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), National Skill Development Fund (NSDF) and 33 Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) as well as 187 training partners registered with NSDC.
The MSDE aspires to work with skill development centers, universities and other association in this domain. The MSDE also got collaborated with Central Ministries, State governments, International organizations, Industries and NGOs for more effective execution of skill development undertakings.
