World Largest Radio Telescope: India's role in Square Kilometer Array telescope

India & S. Africa are major partners in the design of Telescope Manager through bilateral research initiatives supported by respective Science and Technology departments.
On scientific front, Square Kilometer Array Telescope will allow Indian astronomers direct access to the best experimental radio-astronomy facility of future in the world.
Square Kilometer Array Telescope Manager System is the major controlling nerve centre behind the functioning of the SKA observatory. India and South Africa have the major role in the development of it's nerve system.
The SKA is a global project with 12 member countries including India. Collaborating with National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, NCRA-TIFR.
Square Kilometer Array telescope being developed in the southern hemisphere, in sub-Saharan states where the view of the Milky Way is best and radio interference least.
According to Science and Technology Minister Dr.Harsh Vardhan, Square Kilometer Array telescope project will drive tech growth within the country in areas like low noise electronics, analogue/digital signal processing, high-speed computing.
