Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, R.K Singh, launched a web-based monitoring System and a Fly Ash mobile application called as “ASH TRACK” on 9th February 2018 in New Delhi.
R.K Singh informed that these two platforms will ensure the best management of the production of ash by thermal power plants, by providing an interface between fly ash producers (thermal power plants) and potential ash consumers such as road contractors, cement plants etc.
R.K Singh further added it is very crucial for managing fly ash properly not only for the environment but also for us, as the ash produced by power plants occupies a lot of land space.
R.K Singh also informed that currently, only 63% of the fly ash is being utilised and the government is aiming to make it 100 % of utilisation. So it is essential that Road contractors and Construction engineers must know the benefits of using fly ash in construction.
The ASH TRACK App would be managing 200 million tonnes of fly ash by tracking coal-based power plants situated within 100 km and 300 km from given location and availability of fly ash, along with prospective users within the same radius.
The Ash TRACK App gives plant-wise, utility-wise and State-wise ash utilisation status in the country.
The Ash TRACK App can be downloaded from Google Play Store for Android OS and from App Store for Apple IOS.
