MoPNG gets Swachh Bharat Inter-Ministerial Award

Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) Awarded with Swachh Bharat Inter-Ministerial Award

The Union Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) was conferred with Swachh Bharat Inter-Ministerial Award on 2nd October 2017.

The event of Swachh Bharat Inter-Ministerial Award marked the third anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission on Gandhi Jayanti.

Union Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) received the award on the basis of the various innovative and development activities it undertook over a period of three years.

Initiatives are undertaken by Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG)

Various innovative and development activities, including Project Saraaswati, Unique Zero Energy, Bio-Toilets, Swachhta Apps, Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan

Project Saraswati: oil & gas Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) launched Project Saraswati in Haryana to tap the groundwater resources to deal with server water crises in summer.

Unique Zero Energy: a unique zero energy based vegetable storage celler were developed in Nang village near Leh to prevent rotting of form produce (especially potatoes) due to extreme temperatures.

Bio-Toilets: it brought about the construction of bio-toilets in Leh in J&K, and Mahanandpur in Bihar thereby making Bharatnagar in Maharastra and Gandhigaon in Assam open defense free localities.

Swachhta Apps: it administered cleaning Himalayas initiatives by launching Swachhata Apps and organized innovative competitions for the clean Himalayas.

Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan: oil CPSEs, and joint Ventures constructed more than 20187 school toilets with a view to reducing the drop-out rate among girl students due to no-availability of separate toilets which is benefitting more than 5 lakh girl students.
