Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry has launched Government e Marketplace (GeM) 3.0, a new upgraded version of the National Procurement Portal of India on 30th January 2018.
Earlier, GeM 2.0 version was launched as a pilot in August 2016 which turned successful.
GeM 3.0 has undergone a digital transformation with superior technology and ability to scale from the previous version. This will enable many sellers and service providers for products and services across the country under one roof. This will also enhance the growth of MSME's, Manufacturers & Service providers.
GeM 3.0, an advanced version, would provide features like standardised and enriched catalog management, powerful search engine, real-time price comparison, template-based Bid and RA creation, demand aggregation, e-EMD, e-PBG, user rating, advanced MIS and analytics.
GeM is an Online Market platform to facilitate procurement of goods and services by various Ministries and departments of the Government. It has been envisioned as National Procurement Portal of India. It is completely an e-marketplace that enables procurement of common use goods and services with limited human involvement.
