A meeting headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South East nation’s state councillor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi have signed three memorandum of understanding.
This meeting was held in Delhi on Wednesday 19th October 2016 to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between India and Myanmar.
It is the first visit of San Suu Kyi and it was a three day visit in which she met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
This Memorandum of Understanding was signed for the cooperation of the power sector.
Second MoU was signed on the banking supervision between Central Bank of Myanmar and Reserve Bank of India.
Third Memorandum of Understanding was signed for the establishment of academic and professional building programme for the insurance ministry of Myanmar.
