Madan Lal Khurana was born on 15 October 1936 in Faisalabad (now in Pakistan). At the age of 12, he came to India with family during partition.
He was the third Chief Minister of Delhi from 02 December 1993 to 26 February 1996. After this, he was also the Governor of Rajasthan from 14 January 2004 to 1 November 2004.
Khurana was also the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government. He was also an active member of the RSS.
He separated himself from active politics in 2004, but after a few years, he returned to politics.
Before joining active politics, he taught at PGDV College. At the same time, together with leaders like Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Kedarnath Sahni, established Jana Sangh in Delhi.
He was the Chief Minister of the Jana Sangh from 1965 to 67.
Madan Lal Khurana was the Executive Councilor of Delhi from 1977 to 1980.
When the Bharatiya Janata Party lost badly in 1984, Khurana contributed a lot to the party again in Delhi.
Madan Lal Khurana became the Union Minister in the centre for the first time when the government formed under the leadership of the BJP.
He also took the responsibility of the BJP state president and the party's national vice president.
Khurana, who was called 'Lion of Delhi' in the nineties, played a key role in setting up the BJP in Delhi.
On August 20, 2005, he was fired from the party due to indiscipline.
Madan Lal Khurana was also the Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government.
In 2013, he became brain hemorrhage due to which he was away from active politics.
Madan Lal Khurana was seriously ill from the last two years (from the year 2016).
Madan Lal Khurana died on October 27, 2018.
