Roger Federer Won Two Honors At Laureus Awards Ceremony-2018

The 18th edition of Laureus World Sports Awards Ceremony took place on the evening of 27th February 2018 at the ‘Monte Carlo Sporting Club’ complex in Larvotto, Monaco.

Twenty-times Grand Slam champion Swiss Star, Roger Federer has won the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year 2017and Comeback of the Year awards at the 18th edition of the awards ceremony held in Monaco. 

Roger Federer (36-year old)is a Swiss professional tennis player had concluded the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles in the year after the seven-year break of winning any major.

American tennis champion, Serena Williams took home the World Sportswoman of the Year award after winning her Australian Open success, 23rd Grand Slam in 2017.

Serena Williams is now the most decorated female Laureus Award winner with five Laureus statuettes.

Formula 1 constructors' champions Mercedes picked up the Team of the Year trophy, while wheelchair athlete Marcel Hug bagged the Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability.

Brazilian football club Champions were given the Best Sporting Moment of the Year for their response to adversity following a plane crash in 2016 in which they lost the majority of their team.
