Sri Lankan Pacer Lasith Malinga retired from ODI cricket after Sri Lanka’s first One-day International (ODIs) against Bangladesh played on 26th July 2019.
Lasith Malinga (35-years-old) also announced his retirement from T20Is after the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020, to be held in Australia over October-November 2020.
Lasith Malinga took retirement from Test Cricket in the year 2010.
Lasith Malinga made his ODI debut in 2004, becoming the first to clinch two World Cup hat-tricks and the first to take three ODI hat-tricks.
Lasith Malinga is also the only bowler to take four wickets in four consecutive balls.
Lasith Malinga made his One Day International (ODI) debut vs the United Arab Emirates at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on 17th July 2004, T20I vs
England at The Rose Bowl, 15th June 2006.
Lasith Malinga till date (July-2019) had played 226 ODIs, taking 338 wickets and 73 T20I taking 98 wickets. He also played 30 Test matches, taking 101 wickets till 2010 (till retirement).
