Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav along with 50 other accused including Former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra in Fodder scam case of Chaibasa Treasury got convicted in a special CBI court of Ranchi on 24th January 2018.
RJD Chief, Lalu Yadav in his third case and 50 other accused including Jagannath Mishra has been proved guilty in the Fodder scam, which concerns the corrupt withdrawal of Rs 33.67 from Chaibasa treasury in early 90’s (1992-1993).
CBI judge SS Prasad, in a special CBI court, awarded Lalu Yadav and his wingman, Jagannath Mishra with an imprisonment of Five years in jail and a fine of Rs 5 lakh each.
CBI judge SS Prasad sentenced 50 accused with three to five years in jail whereas 6 other people were acquitted.
RJD Chief, Lalu Yadav, is currently serving 3.5 years of jail imprisonment in Birsa Munda Central Jail of Ranchi, related to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from Deoghar Treasury.
