Kerala Tourism: 'SMiLE Virtual Tour Guide' to give a boost to Malabar tourism: Details, Features, Aim, Highlights

The Kerala Tourism Department unveiled a ‘SMiLE Virtual Tour Guide’ website (www.bekaltourism.com) for the region in north Kerala in order to give a boost to Malabar tourism.

SMiLE is the stands for: ‘Small and Medium Industries Leveraging Experiential’ Tourism.

SMiLE was conceived by and executed by Bekal Resorts Development Corporation (BRDC) that focuses on eco-friendly and experiential tourism.

For the concept and execution, the government provided Rs 50 lakhs to BRDC.

The SMiLE Virtual Tour Guide Features:

1. Information on 40 Malabar attractions,
2. Ways to reach them, plan tours and fix reminder alarm notification, means to share portal material, find accommodation and book rooms,
3. Helpline numbers for women and ambulance service,
4. A mobile app that offers location-based information alongside a three-minute video that plays on visiting any attraction in Malabar.
