This year Kanyashree prakalpa scheme gets United Nations Public Service Award on 24th June 2017.
This award ceremony was held at the world fourm, The Hague, Neatherlands. A total of 552 project from 62 countries were nominated for the award.
From India this trophy and certificate was received by the Mamata Banerjee Chief Minister of West Bengal.
This Kanyashree Prakalpa scheme is a conditional cash transfer scheme aimed at retaining girls in school and other educational institutions. Its work toward skill development and prevent child marriage.
This scheme is being implemented through 16000 institutes and schools. Over 4 million adolescent girls have already enrolled in the scheme and $500 million handed over to the beneficires through their bank accounts, a release from state government.
