Jammu And Kashmir Governor's rule as per Article 92 of J&K Constitution

 

 

Jammu And Kashmir Governor's Rule conditions, period, process, transfer of power, and Section 92 of Jammu And Kashmir Constitution 

In the event of failure of constitutional machinery in Jammu And Kashmir, Governor's rule is imposed by invoking Section 92 of Jammu & Kashmir State constitution.

Governor's rule proclamation is issued by Jammu & Kasmir State Governor after obtaining consent from the President of India.

Governor's rule is imposed for 6 months in Jammu and Kashmir following the failure of elected government resignation. During the Governor's rule, State Assembly is either suspended or dissolved and the state completely comes under Centre. 

In case of dissolution of State Assembly, State may go for new elections to form a government with a majority in the assembly. 

If constitutional machinery fails to restore within 6 months of Governor's rule period in the state, then President rule is extended to Jammu And Kashmir.
