International Yoga Day celebration on 21st June linked to Solar transition towards south pole

21st June is the of the Solar Solstice. From perspective of Yoga, 21st June is better period of the year to start Yoga practices and meditation as this belongs to the transition period.

According to old belirfs and yoga practices, at the time of Sankranti Dakshinayan 21st June the Adiyogi left towards south. He meets 7 royal sages and makes them his first disciples. 21st June maks this important event in the human history.

21st June is also the longest day of the year on the planet earth. This makes 21st June special day to celebrate for human mind, body and soul perspective.

Making of 21st June as International Yoga Day

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi takes first initiative by delevering and impactful speech on Yaga and it's impact on human, human civilization in United Nations General Assembly on 27th September 2014.

Narendra Modi government became successful in making United Nations agree to declare and celebrate 21st June as International Yoga Day worldwide.

The proposal for celebration of International Yoga Day gets approval in United Nations 193 members nations on 11 December 2014.

United Nations declared 21st June 2015 to celebrate as first International Yoga Day.
