The National Conference on Down Syndrome was organised on 26th March 2018 in New Delhi.
The National Conference on Down Syndrome was organised by the National Trust under the shield of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to increase awareness about Down Syndrome.
A book named “Twilights Children” based on the lives of the person suffering from Down Syndrome was also released on the occasion of the national conference.
The National Conference main objective was to provide excellent opportunities to parents to obtain information about latest development in education and skilling and inclusive living of persons with Down Syndrome.
The National Conference showed the participation of scholars from all fields on one platform to contribute ideas and to share channelized knowledge on Down Syndrome which can help to enable a positive change in people with Down Syndrome.
The National Conference showed panel discussion and Q&A by experts/doctors followed by Assessment/Screening sessions for the children with Down Syndrome.
The World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is observed on 21st March every year across the world.
The World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) was first declared by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 19th December 2011 to observe this day on 21st March as an official UN day.
