The foundation stone of the India International Convention and Expo Center (IICC) was held in New Delhi on September 20, 2018, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Convention Center is being developed as a state-of-the-art centre for organizing meetings, conferences and exhibitions aimed at attracting and encouraging businesses and industries for industrial development.
This project will be completed in 221.37-acre area at Dwarka Sector 25, New Delhi at an estimated cost of 25,730 crores.
Facilities given in the Convention Center will be equivalent to the best centres in the world in terms of quality, size and quality and will be organized in international and national events, meetings, conferences, exhibitions and trade shows.
It will be in the top ten centres of the world and will be the largest indoor exhibition site in India. Apart from promoting the business industry, it will create more than five lakh job opportunities.
This project is being implemented by the 100% government company India International Convention Center and Exhibition Center Limited (IICC Limited), set up by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP).
According to size and quality, this centre will be one of the best centres in the world. It will be organized international and national programs, meetings, conferences, exhibitions and trade exhibitions.
The construction of the centre will be according to Green Building Principles and the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) platinum rating standards. This conference centre will have a seating arrangement for 11 thousand people and five exhibition centres.
