Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday invited all Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) members to the International Buddhist Conclave, which will be hosted by India in 2020.
Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal are the member nations of the BIMSTEC.
While addressing the inaugural session of the fourth BIMSTEC Summit, Modi announced that in August 2020, India will host International Buddhist Conclave. At this opportunity, the Prime Miniter invited all BIMSTEC members to come to India as the Guest of Honour and be a part of the event.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a bilateral meeting with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena on the sidelines of BIMSTEC Summit in Kathmandu, Good and positive exchanges of views on strengthening development cooperation and other areas of bilateral relationships.
