Union Government Launched New Office Of Central Project Monitoring Unit for e-Vidhan Project

Union Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs inaugurated new office of Central Project Monitoring Unit for the e-Vidhan project of Government at Parliament House Annexed Wing.

Union Minister of State (MoS) for Parliamentary Affairs, Vijay Goel inaugurated the new office of Parliament on 20th April 2018.

It was launched as a part of ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ being observed by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs from 16th to 30th April 2018.

About e-Vidhan Project

The e-Vidhan project is a mission mode initiative to digitize and make the functioning of State Legislatures in India to make them paperless. It is a part of broader Digital India Programme of Central Government.

The e-Vidhan project aims to contribute to cleanliness and environment by reducing the use of papers to a great extent. It will also make the functioning of State Legislatures participative, responsive, transparent, productive and more accountable and efficient to the public.

The e-Vidhan project’s nodal ministry is Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. It is taking all necessary steps for rolling out the project in all states. One of the important components of devised for implementation of the project is to create Project Monitoring Units both at Central as well as State levels.
