The Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘C-437’ interceptor boat was commissioned on 17th December 2018, at Porbandar, Gujarat for strengthening the coastal security of India.
The ICGS C-437 interceptor boat will be based at Jakhau under administrative and operational control of the commander of North West Coast Guard, IG Rakesh Palegion.
The ICGS C-437 interceptor boat will strengthen the security command of the west coast and will help to elevate the patrolling activity, to prevent illegal activities such as infiltration, smuggling and illegal fishing.
The ICGS C-437 interceptor boat is 27.8m long, has a displacement capacity of 106 tonnes and has a maximum speed of 45 knots.
The ICGS C-437 interceptor boat is capable of undertaking the multifarious task such as surveillance, search and rescue, interdiction and rendering assistance to boats and craft in distress at sea.
The ICGS C-437 interceptor boat has an advanced navigational and communication equipment with the capability to respond to any maritime situation.
