The Hindu Literary Prize an Indian Literary award also called as the Hindu Best Fiction award. It is established in 2010.
The Hindu Literary Prize is awarded by Hindu Literary Review (part of The Hindu Newspaper). It recognizes Indian works in English and English translation.
The first recipient of Hindu Literary Prize in 2010:
Manu Joseph (Serious Men), Palash Krishna Mehrotra (Eunuch Park), Tishani Doshi (The Pleasure Seekers) Kalpana Swaminathan (Venus Crossing).
Manjula Bajaj (Come, Before Evening Falls), Anjali Joseph (Saraswati Park), Soumya Bhattacharya (if I Could Tell You), Tabish Khair (The Thing about Thugs).
Anjum Hasan (Neti, Neti), Daisy Hasan (The To-Let House) and Upamanyu Chatterjee (Way to Go).
Hindu Literary Prize Winners 2011:
The Sly Company of People Who Care by Rahul Bhattacharya and Bharathipura, Translated work of U. R Ananthamurthy, Translated by Sushila Punitha.
The Fakir, Translated work of Sunil Gangopadhyay, translated by Monabi Mitra and River of Smoke by Amitav Ghosh.
Litanies of Dutch Battery, translated work of N. S Madhavan, translated by Rajesh Raja Mohan and The Folder Earth by Anuradha Roy. The Storyteller of Marrakesh by Joydeep Roy-Bhattacharya.
