Indian Literary Awards: Vyas Samman Award, Established in 1991 by K. K. Birla Foundation, History, Winners List 

Vyas Samman is an Indian literary award, conferred for Hindi literature only, it is Established in 1991 by K. K. Birla Foundation

Vyas Samman award is awarded annually to outstanding literary work in Hindi authored and published in past 10 years by an Indian citizen.

Vyas Samman award, in addition, carries a cash prize of Rs. 2.5 Lakh, a citation, and a plaque.

Winner of Vyas Samman Indian literary award: 

The first recipient Dr. Ram Vilas, Sharma honored by Vyas Samman award for his work “Bharat Ke Pracheen Bhasha parivar aur Hindi in 3 volumes” in the year 1991 

Kamal Kishore Goyenka (recent-most awardee) received the award in 2014, for his book “Premchand Kee Kahaniyon Kaa Kaal Kramanusar Adhyan” which was published in the year 2012.

Other Hindi authors who received Vyas Samman award:

Shri Girija Kumar Mathur for “Main Waqt Ke Hoon Samane” in 1993, Dharmvir Bharti for “ Sapna Abhi Bhi” in 1994, Kunwar Narayan for “Koi Dusra Nahin”  for their collection of poems.

Professor Ramswarup Chaturvedi for “Hindi Sahitya aur Samvedna Ka Vikas” in 1996, Dr. Kedarnath Singh for his poem “Uttar Kabir Tatha Anya Kavitaen in 1997.

Govind Mishra for “Panch Aanganon wala Ghar in 1998, Sri Lal Sukla for “ Bisarampur Ka Sant in 1999, Giriraj Kishore for “ Pehla Girimitya” in 2000.

Kailash Vajpayee for his work “ Prithvi Ka Krishna Paksh” in 2002, Chitra Mudgal for her work Anwan” in 2003 and Mridula (Jain) Garg for “Kath Gulab” in 2004.

Chandrakanta for “Katha Satisar” in year 2005 and Parmanand Srivastava who is a noted poet and literary critic in 2006.  

Mannu Bhandari for her autobiography “Ek Kahani Yah Bhi” in 2008, and Amar Kanth for his book “Inhi Hathiyaron Se” in 2009.

Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari “Phir Bhi Kuch Rah Jayega” in 2010, Ramdarash Misra “ Aam K Patte in 2011  for their collection of poems.

Narendra Kohli for his novel “Na Bhooton Na Bhavishyati” in 2012 and Vishwanath Tripathi for his Memoir Vyomkesh Darvesh in 2013.

Sunita Jain got this award for poetry collection “Kshama” in 2015, Surinder Verma for his poetry collection “Kaatna Shami Ka Vriksha Padma-Pankhuri Ki Dhar Se” in 2016 and Mamta Kalia for Sukkham Dukkham.
