Various types of forest are found in India; from the rainforests of Kerala to the south, the alpine forest of Ladakh in the north, from the desert in the west to the evergreen forests of the northeast. The division of forests, their nature, texture, the climate in which they grow and is done on the basis of their surroundings.
Coniferous forests:- are found in the Himalayan mountainous areas where the temperature is low. In these forests, straight tall trees are found.
Evergreen Forest:- The Western Ghats are found in high rainfall areas located in Northeast India and Andaman Nicobar Islands. These forests flourish in areas where monsoon lasts for several months.
Wet Evergreen Forests:- In the south along the Western Ghats and Andaman and Nicobar islands and all the northeast are found.
Semi-evergreen tree:- These types of forest are found in the Western Ghats, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Eastern Himalayas. A mixture of wet evergreen trees and humid deciduous forests is found in these forests.
Deciduous forest:- These forests are found only in those areas where moderate rainfall season is only for a few months.
Barbed Forest:- These forests are found in low humidity areas in India. This tree is surrounded by far and green grass. Thorny trees are those which preserve water.
Mangrove forest:- rivers flow along the shores of delta and shores. This tree raises salts and pure water in all.
