Russia and India to sign up for Units 5 and 6 of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KNPP) at the BRICS Summit 2016 held on 15-16 October in Goa.
This agreement will be signed by the PM of India Narendra Modi and President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
Unit 1 has already been approved on 10th August jointly by Modi and Putin at the video-conferencing joined by Modi and PM Putin at a ceremony in Moscow.
Till now, Unit 1 has already produced 10,900 million units of electricity since formed marked at the KNPP site.
Unit 2 is expected to be authorized later this year at Kudankulam.
The construction of Unit 3 and 4 has started earlier this year at the ground-breaking ceremony.
For this set up, Russia has offered new range of reactor units like VVER-Toi (Typical Optimised, Enhanced Information) for the 3rd and 4th Units of KNPP.
