India Army and the Kazakhstan Army joint military training exercise PRABAL DOSTYK 2017 begins from  2 November 2017

The joint military training exercise PRABAL DOSTYK 2017 amid the India Army and the Kazakhstan Army began on 2 November 2017 with the opinion ceremony at Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh. 

The first edition of exercise was held in Karaganda region of Kazakhstan in September 2016

The fourteen-day joint exercise is aimed at enhancing the military ties between the two countries for achieving interoperability between the two armies.

It also aims to acquaint both forces with each other’s operating procedures in the backdrop of the counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations under UN mandate.

Literally defined as Robust Friendship, Prabal Dostyk 2017 is the second edition of the joint military training exercise between both countries.  The training contingents comprise of platoon strength from the 11th Gorkha Rifles of Indian Army and similar strength of Kazakhstan Army.
