India and Russia after signing the defence contracts at the BRICS Summit, India and Russia will now be signing for two defence projects.
These two defence projects are Brahmos Missile and co-developing India’s Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA).
Brahmos Aerospace was launched in the year 1998 in India as a joint venture between Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Federal State Unitary Enterprise NPOM of Russia.
Brahmos has been derived from two words Brahmaputra and Moskva River.
This Missile can be launched from air, ships, submarines, land and even from underwater.
Fifth Generation Aircraft FGFA is based on Russia’s fifth generation aircraft PAK-FA.
It will be launched for India will further improvements and according to the requirements of India.
India and Russia will jointly work in the development of FGFA and is expected to finish the discussions on this and will be signing the agreement for FGFA.
