India and Kazakhstan joint military exercise named 'KAZIND-2019' is scheduled to be held in the mountainous terrain of Pithoragarh district, Uttarkhand.
KAZIND-2019 joint military exercise is a 13-day exercise schedule from 3 October to 15 October 2019.
KAZIND-2019 joint military exercise will mainly focus on counter-terrorism operations in mountainous terrain.
KAZIND-2019 will see the participation of about 100 soldiers from both Indian and Kazakhstan armies participating.
KAZIND-2019 joint military exercise is the 4th edition and is conducted alternatively in Kazakhstan and India every year.
KAZIND-2019 joint military exercise focuses on aspects of emerging trends of global terrorism and hybrid warfare have also been included. Also, both countries will share with each other their experiences of counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations.
India and Kazakhstan 'KAZIND' exercise is crucial in terms of security challenges faced by the two nations amid changing trends in global terrorism. Also, this joint military exercise will enhance the level of defence cooperation further fostering bilateral relations between the two countries.
