India and Cambodia have signed 4Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) on 27th January 2018 in India-ASEAN Commemorative Summit, New Delhi.
The four agreements were signed in the presence of Indian PM Narendra Modi and PM of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Hun Sen.
First MoU was signed between the Ministry of Culture Government of India and the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, for Cultural Exchange Programme. This will promote cultural exchange and strengthen the friendly relations between India and Cambodia.
Second MoU was signed between the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the Cambodian Ministry of Economy and Finance, in order to institute a line of credit from India to fund Cambodia’s Stung Sva Hab water resources development project for USD 36.92 million.
Third MoU was signed between the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior (MLAT), for Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters. This will improve the effectiveness of both countries in the prevention, investigation and prosecution of crimes through cooperation and legal assistance in criminal matters.
Fourth MoU was signed between the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior (Human Trafficking) for cooperation in Prevention of Human Trafficking. This will increase the bilateral cooperation on the issues of prevention, rescue and repatriation related to human trafficking.
