India and Japan sign six agreements on India Japan Summit 2018

 

 

PM Narendra Modi visit to Japan at India-Japan summit key points

After the summit on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan on October 29, 2018, India and Japan signed six agreements, including a high-speed rail project and naval cooperation.

In addition, the two foreign ministers and the Defense Ministers agreed to do two plus-to-talk talks.

In the summit, the two discussed various bilateral, regional and global issues including the circumstances of the Indo-Pacific region.

Prime Minister Modi said after the talks, "Both of us agreed that from digital partnerships to a cyber sector, health, defence, from sea to space, we will strengthen our partnership in every field."

India and Japan compromised the arrangement of foreign currency swap arrangement equivalent to $ 75 billion in each other.

Apart from this, agreements between the two countries regarding health services, digital partnership, food processing and naval cooperation related to Ayushman India.

Cooperation letter (MOC) was signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Japan between Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Gyani, Siddha and Homeopathy) of India and Kanagawa Prefectural Government.

Japan also agreed to join the International Solar Coalition

Both leaders also expressed deep concern over the growing threats of terrorism and its global reach at its formal summit.

Japan endorsed India's attempt to gain membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).
