Jammu & Kashmir elections and article 35A controversy

Elections have been announced among the political hawks in Jammu and Kashmir. Counting will take place on October 20 for these four phases elections. The elections will be held on October 8, 10, 13 and 16. The voting time will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The announcement of the body elections has been made at a time when the two key political parties of the state, the National Conference and the People's Democratic Party, have not announced the election to contest.

The state's main parties, the National Conference and the People's Democratic Party (PDP), have announced the boycott of the body elections, citing Article 35 (A) of the Constitution.

National Conference leader Umar Abdullah had said, "In a poll where people do not have a stake, they are looking like center elections, so what can we say in this? We have not asked people to participate in elections or to boycott it, we have only said that our party will not participate in it. "

Earlier, the president of the National Conference and former state minister Farooq Abdullah had announced the boycott of Panchayat elections on the issue of 35 (A) issue. Farooq had said that till the central government does not solve the sentiments of the people in the minds of the people on 35 (A), the National Conference will not participate in the Panchayat elections.

The PDP president and former CM Mehbooba Mufti had announced to boycott the state's Panchayat elections after a meeting of its party. Mehbooba had argued that there is a great uncertainty and fear about Article 35 (A) in the state, in such a situation if the government gives any election in these situations then its credibility will be questioned after the results.
