Index of Economic Freedom 2018-World Ranking Tally

India was ranked 130th out of 180 economies in recently released Index of Economic Freedom-2018 edition report.

The Index of Economic Freedom-2018 (IEF) measures the degree of economic freedom in the countries of the world.

In IEF-2018 edition report, India is ranked 30th among 43 countries in the AsiaPacific region,

In IEF-2018 edition report, India with a score of 54.5 points had leaped 13 places from the 143rd rank in the previous year (2017) with a score of 52.6 points.

According to the IEF-2018 report, the top ten freest countries includes Hong Kong (1st Rank), Singapore (2nd Rank), New Zealand (3rd Rank), Switzerland (4th Rank), Australia (5th Rank), Ireland (6th Rank), Estonia (7th Rank), United Kingdom (8th Rank), Canada (9th Rank) and UAE (10th Rank).

In Index of Economic Freedom-2018, some BRICS region countries that featured includes South Africa (77th Rank), Russia(107th Rank), India (130th Rank) and Brazil (153).

According to the IEF-2018 report, India’s Neighbor countries includes Bhutan (87th Rank), China (110th Rank),Sri Lanka (111th Rank), Bangladesh (128th Rank), Pakistan (131th Rank) and Nepal (133th Rank).

According to the IEF-2018 report, least free countries from bottom includes Venezuela (179th Rank), Cuba (178th position). The at least economically free in the index is North Korea at 180th position.

According to the IEF-2018 report, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Yemen, and Liechtenstein were not ranked in the index.
