A scholar Abhishek Swarnkar from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research has produced a nonocrystal solar cells.
This is for the first time that any Indian Researcher has successfully produced a high efficiency inorganic perovskite nanocrystal solar cells.
Nanocystal is used for making solar cells and red LEDs.
These Nanocrystal convert solar energy to electricity by producing high voltage of 1.23 volts.
The Nanocrystal of cesium lead iodine were reduced to nanometre range and it also allowed the material to absorb at the ambient temperature.
This material completely becomes unstable within a short span of time under ambient conditions.
The organic component is volatile in nature while the traditional hybrid has an efficiency of about 22%.
