The union Government headed by Narendra Modi has approved the establishment of Indian Institute for Science Education and Research in Berhampur, Odisha.
It has approved the formation of temporary campus from the Academic Year 2016-17 and the academic year will start from August 2016.
The total estimated cost for this project is Rs.512.79 crore for initial three years starting from 2016 to 2019.
The land will be provided free of cost by the state government of Odisha.
A director will also be employed for the institute having the fixed pay scale of Rs.80,000.
The Government in its Union Budget of 2015 has already announced the formation of IISER in Odisha.
The student strength for the first year for the course BS-MS is 60 and will increase to 665 in the third year including PhD, MS Degree, MS-PhD and post-doctoral Fellowships.
The permanent campus will also establish after the proposal.
