Every second Saturday of the September Month is celebrated as World First Aid Day, and in 2021 this is being celebrated on 11th September.
The purpose of World First Aid Day is to promote public awareness about how first aid may save lives in the case of a catastrophe.
According to the International Federation, everyone should have access to first aid, and it should be an integral component of any growing society. The phrase "first aid" refers to the help provided to someone who has suffered an unexpected accident or sickness. The primary aims are saving life and keeping the disease from deteriorating as much as feasible.
In emergencies, ordinary people often have to perform first aid to save someone's life.
As per international federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies (IFRC), the World First Aid Day 2021 is about "first aid and road safety ". In 2020 theme was 'First help saves life'.
In 2000, the IFRC set up World First Aid Day, and this organization provides first aid for people for more than 100 years.
